What We Got This Week: Living Room Decor, Wood Furniture Wax, Glass Pitcher for the Kids

We tend to go a little overboard when choosing items to buy for our home and family – we want things that function well, look good, and fit within a given budget. Everything must check AT LEAST two of those boxes, but ideally we’ll hit all three. This usually means that we spend WAY too much time researching and reading reviews, but whatevs – our obsession is your gain, right?

Living Room Decor

The living room renovation is is full swing. The new furniture is already here, and the next job is to finish up the walls (we’re doing lime wash!). In the meantime, I’ve started gathering decor items to style and warm up the room once we’re done with the walls.

Hoping this flower pot set works out on the new bookshelves, since we’re looking for some pops of green

Time to dress up the new sofa with a few throw pillows. We’re testing out a few including this Persian-inspire one

We like to keep tissues in the living room, and this one would hide the box and also gives us storage on top

We’re also going to try out this one, which would hide a larger tissue box and is more vibrant, but no storage

This throw pillow is out of the range of my normal style, but I think the floral, feminine whimsy could be a sweet touch

All these throw pillows means we need more pillow inserts! These are a favorite option of ours

Wood Wax & Lime Wash Supplies

We’re making a few tweaks to some of the new furniture, including adding a waterproof finish to our beautiful new wood accent chair. I haven’t used furniture wax before (and don’t want to do polyurethane on this one), so I’m going to test a few options.

This one works on all types of materials, like stone, metal, & leather

A solid bar of beeswax – I’m excited to try this one out

Made with beeswax, calendula, and orange oil, this should have things smelling quite nice

We’re gearing up for lime washing the walls, and got this big set of brushes for the task
