Now I know this isn’t an awards show and that you’re all just here for the fun living room makeover before & after photos, but I would be remiss if I didn’t also take this brief moment of your attention to also thank all the many folks who have been involved in our makeover journey along the way.

Because while this kind of thing is small potatoes for some folks, for us, this was a dream makeover that took the whole damn village. And if there’s one thing I’m gonna do, it’s shine a spotlight on the fact that I’m no superwoman, and none of this stuff gets done around here without a boatload of help.

Lest I bore you, I’m going to pepper in our gratitudes throughout the photo sliders so no one says “enough” and tries to drown me out with the orchestra Susan Lucci style.

First and foremost, thank you to Julia, Chris, and the entire Chris Loves Julia crew. Not only did you comb through over 3,000 applications to the One Million Follower Room Makeover Giveaway, but some of you don’t even drink, which means you completed that task stone-cold sober. Not even a glass of wine to help bide the time.

Nevertheless, you managed to pick our needle out of the haystack. You are incredibly hardworking rock stars, and we literally wouldn’t have had this opportunity without you. Julia, what you do isn’t for the faint of heart, and yet you handle it all with grace & kindness. Thank you so much for giving us a shot, for the resources & inspiration to transform this room, and for creating that powerhouse of a brand that makes things like this possible.

Thank you to our supportive family and real life village. It’s gloriously exhausting to raise five young kids, especially as transplants to a city where we don’t have roots. On a day-to-day basis, Jim and I would simply not be O.K. if we did not have the support of the most incredible childcare team on Earth.

We are both so deeply grateful to have each of you in our lives, whether you support us from school, daycare, or right here at home. Thank you for everything you do to help us create this life for these beautiful kids, and for how you love and support them like your own so that we can take on questionable side quests like renovating a Fraternity House, writing a blog, or having a weekend art sale so the kids can buy their own monster trucks.

You guys are the actual best, and we couldn’t do this without you!

Thank you to our online village of Charlotte House friends, fraternity folk, and other old house weirdos. You already know this, but we think the world of you and are just chuffed that you’re here. Without you, I would be speaking into the abyss, and Jim would need to either call my doctor or get me a dog (and we already clean up enough poop around here, so please don’t leave me now…)

Truth be told, we know there is endless competition for eyeballs these days, and we’re humbled that you include us in the part of the internet that you give your time to. You guys are really just the best, and we are so glad you’re here.
